Adapted from the film series “Embroidered Spring Blade” by Lu Yang, “Pledge of Allegiance” follows two youths navigating a turbulent world with loyalty and courage. In the third year of Jianwen, thief Li Wu infiltrates the mansion of Jinan official Wang Kegong, posing as锦衣卫 Li Dongfang to steal treasures. Caught in a deadly struggle over the Fish Lock, a key to ancient firearms, Li Wu becomes its unwitting keeper. His childhood rescuer, Song Zhen, now a锦衣卫 named Lu Zheng, works alongside him without recognition, while Shu Tang, a former cellmate, poses as his spy wife. As court intrigues deepen, their bonds are tested, culminating in a resolution as dynasties shift.

The story of how the Los Angeles Lakers became the most successful professional basketball team in the world in the 1980s. HBO is going back in time for an upcoming, currently untitled drama series following the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, one of sports’ most revered and dominant dynasties. The series is based on Jeff Pearlman’s book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s. Adam McKay (Succession, Q: Into the Storm) is executive-producing, as well as directing the pilot episode. Adrien Brody (as Pat Riley), John C. Reilly (as Jerry Buss), Jason Segel (as Paul Westhead), Sally Field (as Jessie Buss), Jason Clarke (as Jerry West), Quincy Isaiah (as Magic Johnson), and Solomon Hughes (as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) are among the cast.
